i'm watching it now, i've been watching it since the first plane hit the WTC... it's disturbing to watch, disturbing to take in

we're going nuts over at mortigi posting updates for each other.
every 5 minutes, news is coming in and so many things are being said.

i was watching the news tonight just after the first crash, saw the second one and have been watching it since.

i hope all my friends in NYC and Washington (and everywhere else) is doing well and is OK.

My thoughts and heart go out to everyone touched by the tragedy. A moment of
silence for the loved ones lost. There is no reason at all for this sort of
thing. No reason at all. Please, everyone, check in with your friends and
family members. If you are in an area of chaos and you have emergency
medical training, go HELP others. If you are the right age and weight (over
110 pounds), and are currently healthy, please go DONATE BLOOD. Please. I
do not weigh enough, so I cannot help even that slightest bit and I feel so
powerless. Please go if you can.

Since the Red Cross website is getting so much traffic and isn't opening for
me, I searched around for other basic blood drive FAQs, and here's one from
Tulsa with basic questions and answers -
http://www.tulsaredcross.org/blooddonor/

Call 1 800 GIVE LIFE for more information on where and how you can donate in
your hometown.

Adina compiled the list below -

>
American Red Cross donation centers: www.redcross.org (site has been busy
all day)

1-800-GIVE-LIFE (number has been busy all day)

Burbank: 1001 W Magnolia 818-842-5295 (phone lines have been jammed for an
hour)

Glendale/Crescenta Valley: 1501 S Brand Blvd 818-243-3121 (line has been
constantly busy)

San Fernando Valley (Van Nuys): 14717 Sherman Way (they are staying open
late and asked that I try to come down around 6pm tonight there may be a
weight but would like to accommodate me and my friends if they can):
818-376-1700

Los Angeles: 1130 S Vermont Ave (They are so backlogged its not even
funny) if you want you can set an appointment with them for later in the
week: 213-739-5200

I've also found out that in Glendale (I can't find a hospital any closer
yet but am looking) at 4PM today at thee Glendale Advantage Hospital's Main
Auditorium there is an open blood drive.

Thank you Adina for compiling that list.

DreamSmith - Very well said.

So far it looks like all of my friends in New York or other touched areas
are all right and accounted for but if I have not yet heard from you, please
email me so I know you are okay.
