letter to duplo
i'm not going to go on and on about it, here or at revolve. but this is what i'll say and then i'm not going to say anymore.
i took the thread down because there was alot of complaints about it. sure, there were people that liked the thread, but it was doing more damage that it did more good. fine, if you've read the rules and agreement, there mightn't be any rules about posting pornographic images on the board, but i thought common respect and decency for others would be in your mind's when people post threads like that.
and yes, i did post the How To Have Sex thread a month or so ago, and while it may have offended you, NO ONE ever sent me page long emails about how deeply upset and disturbed they were about my post. nor did i post photographs in that thread that did not give the reader a second chance to click to see them or not. 'WILL OFFEND' is not a safeguard for people not to click on a thread. you have to understand that not everyone will like what they see in other people's posts, and there is a reason that why there are appropriate warnings nowadays on websites like that.
revolve is always going to be a freespeech place to post, but as long as it's on MY webspace, it's a big part of spacecowgirl.nu. i am sorry if you think i've done the wrong thing, but in my mind i did what was necessary.
what tracy said is completely true. if the company who hosts ALL my websites - every single one of them - found out that i allowed this type of thing to be posted, i will be kicked off the server IMMEDIATELY and i will also not be allowed to host in ALOT of other places. if you knew how much this meant to me, you would know how upset i am about the whole thing. i've been designing websites for more than 3 years now, and the range of people that come and click on certain things through my sites is anywhere from 8 to 80 year olds (i am not kidding). it is my responsibility to limit the amount of offensive material to the people that visit my sites.
i have let alot of crazy posts go by in the past, and this is the first time i've EVER had to delete someone's post. i did give them a chance to delete their own thread, i gave them a warning and then i deleted it myself. i don't like doing it (i really really don't), and i hope that in the future i won't have to - but you need to respect that i did in this case.
tracey
it's not the end of the world. and if you don't like it, no one is forcing you to post.
thanks.
i'm sorry to the people that are royally pissed off with me for deleting their DanEricsson thread, but deal with it like mature adults and move on.

I didn't see the thread in question, but I'm convinced you did the right thing. It is your message board and if you felt that it was your responsibility to remove whatever thread offended people, then it was absolutely right of you to do so. You pay for the space, hon, you decide what to do with it.
