star gazing

so while i was trying to get some rest yesterday, i saw a show on the hubble space telescope, and i saw some of the most amazing photographs ever. now, i'm not going to try space photography myself, mainly cause of the billions of dollars i don't have, the fact i'm not a scientist or an astronaut and never will be, and my fear of heights, but i think getting a shot like this humbles 99% of things you could ever take down on earth.

These eerie, dark, pillar-like structures -- part of the Eagle Nebula -- are columns of cool, interstellar hydrogen gas and dust that serve as incubators for new stars.
