here is new york

my book came today, it was sitting at my front door waiting to be opened. i don't know what other people will say about me wanting to own this book - but i looked through it tonight and i'm glad that i got it. plus, proceeds go to charity, so i don't feel like i'm giving money to another company. anyway, there's over 800 images taken by photographers, amateur to professionals which really make it a .. well i don't know what to call it really. no words were written in this book, there's really no need.

if anything, it really does humble you again and again. you realise that within a frame of a photograph there can be so much emotion behind it, that you can't even begin to imagine what it was like to live that day, in that way; not just the US but the people all over the world that live it day after day after day. it reminds me that i'm incredibly lucky to have what i do.
