wedding hooray's!

in all the craziness, i forgot to post about how my dress fitting went over the weekend. well actually there's not much to say but it looks really amazing - better than i was expecting and i'm really grateful to have her make it for me and my no boobs, ever-dwindling away body. (i drop sizes rather than gain them lately - i'm not complaining!). i haven't said alot about the dress i don't think, but that's because Regan reads this (i know you do!) and part of the tradition that i want to keep, is to not let him see it before the big day

that's another thing, we're going through a book of vows - picking out stuff that we like and don't like. it's all really traditional and the like, so if anyone has any suggestions on doing something different.. i'd love to hear it! we'd both really like to include our family in the ceremony so we have some things in mind for that..

we need to get into gear and get those wedding invitations sent out by the end of the month to our overseas family.. we're pretty much set on making our own - maybe getting a photo taken of both of us and turning it into a card.. just something that people will want to keep. i'll post some ideas in the next week or two

as of today, it's 5 months to go! :D

It's so very exciting. My wife and I have been married two years now. My only advice is simple: When the day comes, pay attention. Pay attention to everything, every minute detail. Why? Because you won't believe how quickly the day's over. You'll find youself, as we did, in your room saying, "Wow, that was fast."

Pay attention and have lots of fun .

We've been married since september and I'd like to say: not only pay attention, but also really do it the way you want it to be and don't let anybody take to much control. We did things our way, different from how others in the family did it. Afterwards they told us how much they could feel it was 'our' wedding. Great!

My wife and I just celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. One piece of advice though.....plan on the marriage, not the wedding. Meaning, be sure you are putting 10 times more effort into your marriage that your wedding day. Your wedding day will come and go but your marriage will last forever.

BTW - thanks for the awesome scavenger hunt. Mines posted at http://www.boomcom.net/26things

thanks for ALL the advice so far :)

clayton > you're EXACTLY right - it's how i'm thinking and why i haven't been all wedding crazy since we got engaged and why we're not going fully traditional and formal. we want the day to be fun more than anything !
