back on track

(well as much as can be)

late last night the domain renewal settled so i was up putting the 26 Things submission form aswell as running around trying to update and check my emails. it's funny how a little domain renewal problem can make you go crazy!

anyway, as i was saying - friday and saturday i spent making things. i wanted to get something for my sister since she's graduating uni next month, so i got cracking and got her the singstar game for PS2 and made her a bag, a pair of rubber ducky pyjama pants and jazzed up a plain white singlet (and made a pair of rubber ducky pants and a singlet for myself). i also took my time (4 hours?) on a brown vinyl bag that i wanted to use for when we travel in september.

good thing about it all? everything cost me about $60 (not including the PS2 game). pretty good since we're on a budget!

Those are adorable! Your sister will love them!

Funny, I'm starting my own handbags mini-empire! You can see a couple of the bags I've done so far here:

Thanks Tracey,
I know it was quite a scramble for you when the server renewal came at the same time as 26 Things finished up. Thanks for all your hard work on this. It really is fun to do, and we all look forward to it. So thanks again, cathy

oh wow, the singlet looks absolutely adorable! and i love the vinyl bag, as well. looks store-bought -- and only $10 to make it! :D! do you have a livejournal account? they'd love these posts at the craftgrrl community ( http://livejournal.com/community/craftgrrl ).

& p.s. -- did you follow a pattern for the vinyl bag? if so, what pattern? thanks. :)

Awesome stuff!

MWAHAH! More making stuff! Ya! I love going to thrift stores, buying potential clothes and ripping them apart and sewing together something new. :D

Too bad I end up with piles of old clothes I haven't touched yet!

Anyway, the stuff looks great! I recently made a LOAD of stuff for a baby shower recently - I totally forgot to take pictures of it all though! I will be making some new stuff soon so maybe I'll post :)

You should post your stuff on Craftster! (www.craftster.org)

wow! thanks for all the messages =D

sandy, the plain white singlet is from double bay clothing warehouse in pitt street mall. i originally had one from dotti and then when i went back to get another one (cause they're comfy) they didn't stock them anymore :( man was i glad to find them again!

cathy, thank you :)

shar, no pattern for the vinyl bag. i just sew as i go sometimes :P

susan, definately get some photos next time! best of both worlds :)

jen, i post on glitter (which is kinda the same as craftser but not as crafty :P).. i pop in every now and again though :)

Have you ever thought of opening up a small online store to sell the stuff you've made?

It all looks so funky! I'd buy it!

I second the online store idea. You're so wonderfully crafty! I love both the singlet and the white bag.
