almost time to go

i'm such a dork, aren't i?

anyway! this time tommorrow, we'll be on a plane headed towards LA, then to Chicago.. then to Regan's mum's! finalllllllly. it's been over a year since Regan's seen his family, so it's going to be a great month! (and hopefully their dogs won't eat me alive). the only thing i regret about going is missing my sister's graduation which is on thursday, damn it!!

the past few days i have been busy getting things squared away. i always thought i'd be the type who could pick up and leave in 10 mins (and i can! i can!) but there are few things to do, like teaching my parents how to use the lift in our apartment block and how not to drop the keys down the elevator shaft, haha. scarily enough, i started and finished packing my bag last night within 1/2 an hour AND only packed about 11kg's worth of stuff (including presents etc.). the last time i packed for something was for a queensland trip with my friends for 10 days, and i packed almost 20kgs!! my biggest worry was overpacking, but i guess we'll leave that to the return trip.

a few days ago, i managed to sew a little (how could i not?) and the results were goldie, another hobo/slouch bag, with rings, that i love and her cousin camel which also converts into a clutch. there will be no more sewing for the next month at least, which should be a good break for my hands/arms.

earlier, i had morning tea up along sydney harbour by myself, i'm going to miss the start of spring here, the weather is amazing! the rest of the afternoon will be spent watching passions, finishing off the yummy food in the fridge (and throwing out the yucky stuff) and organising stuff for shutterbug. when we get back, there's going to be weeks worth of photographs to upload!

so, i'm off for a few days at least. i'll probably make a couple of posts while i'm over there, just to catch up with everyone and let you all know what crazy thing i'm up too. i've never been to the states before, so i'm excited like you couldn't believe.

see you soon!

love the bags! your sewing is great. and you find the best fabrics! :) have a safe and fun flight/trip! oh -- and passions!! i used to watch that show religiously around the time it came out, but then i was always in class when it came on and forgot to set the vcr on timer. is kay with miguel yet? that's the sole reason i watched the show. or has she turned into the evilness of most evil?

Coming to The States?? And you're staying for a month??? Where all will you be visiting? Any chance you'll swing through Iowa? ;)

If you are near (in one of Iowa's surrounding states) and not too horribly busy, it would be awesome to meet up! My roomies and I have been wanting to do a roadtrip!
