the calm before/after the storm ...

busy busy week behind us and again, in front of us

i photographed a lovely wedding on friday morning - beautiful couple, awesome kids, fantastic ceremony. it teetered between clouds, wind, blue sky, then wind again but it was a great experience. i'm working through the photos this week, so the bride & groom can get their prints and online gallery

yesterday, Regan and i were out at the local shops near my parents house - and were caught in the big storm that hit the area. alot of hail, a heck of alot of rain (so rainy, it was white out there), and tonnes of wind. the skylight at the mall started to crack, eeep. after it died down enough, we ran back to the car and drove to my parents house quick to find the power was out! it was still out when we left at 6, and so were the traffic lights in the area. not fun.

this week! WE MOVE! settlement is on wednesday, moving & cleaning of both places takes place thurs-sun, hopefully!

it's going to be a nightmare though. our ADSL connection takes around 2 weeks to relocate, so i'm going to have to arrange some sort of 56k modem dealio in the meantime. it sucks because i basically rely on this connection to work from and there is no guarantee that it will be done in the 2 weeks.... my plan is to probably have a second phone line installed at the new apartment asap, then have ADSL installed there at the same time too. it'll still take 2 weeks to activate (i think), but at least i won't be blocking the phone line all day long ... i'm uber-confused when it comes to all this property stuff, but i'm happy to learn it all now

there's boxes and boxes all over the place here while we pack. i have so much CRAP, maybe it's time to ebay? :P i've already thrown out a heap of junk, but there's so many little bits i want to hang on too. i've underestimated the gas/electricity/phone line relocations, so hopefully i can get a day off this week (i didn't take any time off to do this!!).

shouldn't complain though, we're moving into our OWN PROPERTY!! woohoooo!!! i want to paint walls, i want to nail in shelves, hang up photographs (photo wall here i come) ...

now i just gotta decide what comes first!

ooh, have an nice moving day!

check with your dsl provider and see if they offer free 56k with your connection. i know with us (we are on sbc! yahoo here in the u.s.), they supply you with dialup numbers if you call them, and it's free access for us if the dsl line is ever down or if we're away from home. we just use our dsl logins. :)

Oooh I love photo walls. That was one of the first things I scoped out in our place! Having said that, I've been a slacker in actually framing shots I want up there :)

Congratulations. A new home is very exciting indeed. The decorating possibilities seem endless. It's like having a blank canvas to do anything you wish. Enjoy!
