mischa makes three

i've been putting this off and putting this off .. but i can't hold it in and i'm sure you're wondering what we've been up too!!

this is mischa! our little bitty mini poodle puppy!!!

she's about 8 inches tall, with thick wool like hair. gorgeous personality, loves to run furiously up and down the apartment (the mischa express!). she's a christmas baby, born december 25!

we bought her a couple of weeks ago, though i haven't told my parents yet (which is why i didn't post about it). i know my mum didn't want me to have a dog just yet, but i'm the one looking after her so i figure it's not her decision, right?

anyway, i'm completely in love with her, so is Regan; and we're happily busy tending to the puppy needs!

does anyone have any tips on puppy training? we realise she's still young, and there's a long way to go - but any advice would be great! she's already going to the door to be let out to pee and poop, so we're happy about that - no mess in the apartment for days now. she's also really great on her leash, loves to go for little walks. no barking so far, no chewing on things she's not meant too either.

i just can't wait for puppy preschool!

p.s. you're probably going to hear alot about her from now on :P i've already uploaded a mini mischa gallery

Puppy training? Rest assured that she will rule the (pre) school when she starts her lessons!

Poodles are the brainiacs of the canine world, y'know. And yes, they are so adorably feisty and run-a-roundy cause they're natural born retrievers! So throw stuff for her, lots'a stuff and she'll love you even more.

I grew up with Goverly, a wittle black toy poodle whom your photo of the lovely Mischa reminds me oh-so-much of.

Oh, and what size is Mischa? Is "mini" the same as "toy?" In any case, she shooore is pretty. Be well!

(Incidentally, I have a weight-loss photo album they I tend to refer to as a All-ages Peep Show as well. Unrelated, but yes. Ha!)

First, she's a cutie. I'm jealous of the puppy breath your smelling.
It's never too early to start training your puppy. They can be taught stuff as early as 3 months old.
One of the big things is to socialize her and let her meet lots of people, doggies, and experience different environments.

Sooo cute! I couldnt agree more with you on the point about whose decision it was by the way. I look forward to hearing about her.

cute pup!! Uhm, i thought pups aren't allowed in apartments? Heh, I snuck one in too the last time and kept my pup there for 2 years before I had to give it away as I was retunring to Malaysia.

Few important tips:
1. Never feed chocolates to dogs
2. No onions
3. Avoid feeding human food despite their constant whining (we tend to pity them and give in)
4. Keep all medicinal stuff away, especially paracetamol which can kill them if taken
5. Lots of love! :)
