bad news can be good news?
Mischa's vet appointment went well on saturday morning.. after fighting the traffic through north sydney and almost missing our spot altogether, we got to the hospital to be greeted by other lovely mini poodles! i love seeing Mish with other poodles, she seems to like them the most
we went through with our specialist, who put Mish through these funny little tests to test her reflexes and her walk and balancing. he examined her x-rays and asked us questions, observed her 'pony step' and then let us know that Mischa won't be neededing surgery afterall!
yes, she definately has hip dysplasia on both sides but because she's not in any pain, she's too small for a hip replacement and doesn't seem to be bothered by her hips - he's suggested management and observation rather than put her through something like the triple pelvic osteomony. the biggest concern, however, is still her ataxia which we'll need to see another specialist for. if it gets worse, then :/ crap. but since we've noticed no big change since we've had her, it might just stay this way for the rest of her life and won't be any real problem for her. hooray!
anyway, our 'special' little poodle is still happy, alert and curious like any 6 month old pup should be - so we're optimistic for her!
