december!

i looove my weekends, though i never seem to fit *everything* in in these two days .. who knows, maybe tommorrow i'll get a bit more done? i did manage to clear out 6 month of papers from my desk and from the kitchen AND i fixed my printer finally so i can do some prints. i also managed to take Mish out to the dog park and make a yummy dessert (banana pudding!). the last few things i need to do is to redesign this blog and finish up some photo work for the year, catch up on some sleep and get some christmas presents and cards sent out..

had my last 2 lca rolls developed, yay! again, most came out crap - a few came out really well (i think)

no worries virgin mobile dog mischa in bed citypole

i've been tasting/smelling that weird metallic taste/smell again the past few days.. i still can't describe it well, but it's like if you were sucking on a metal coin and you're stuck with an aftertaste. no amount of teeth brushing, mouth washing or spicy foods gets rid of it. Regan and I think i have some sort of iron deficiency which i know was brought up in one of my last blood tests, so i'm back on some iron tablets to see how it goes. day one, no improvement but i guess i shouldn't be so impatient when it comes to these things.. the taste usually goes away after a week, but i should at least finish off the course of tablets

on top of painting the hallway in our apartment block, they added some artworks in the foyer downstairs.. niiice. maybe i should offer some of my 'photographic work' for display? my own private gallery in the building :P

in a month, it will be our 2nd wedding anniversary!! time is FLYING, or is it just that we're having too much fun? :P ;) anyway, i need to head to bed early (for a saturday night) since i have an early start tommorrow (houseworkkkkk). here's to the last 3 weeks of work for 2005!

Metallic taste? Maybe it's the iron pills that are doing it?

no, maybe i didn't write it properly? i haven't been taking anything and i have the metallic/smoky taste - which is why i've now started to take the iron tablets this week.

I doubt that the metalic taste is from the lack of iron - if anything, you would get the metallic taste from it - if you've ever tated your own blood, it's metallic, right - well, that's from the iron that forms the haem. The metallic taste can be caused by some medication, bacteria in your mouth (tongue scraping when you're brushing your teeth helps) or pregnancy, but in the extreme case it may indicate lead or copper poisoning... but these are usually pretty quick and followed by nausea and vomitting and other symptoms. Most often it is nothing serous, but if it's bothering you, see your GP

thank you Lidija :)

i've been to a few different doc's about it -- one had suggested pregnancy aswell, but extremely unlikely since i don't have a kid running around now do i? haha. apart from that, they've said it's nothing serious too - which is why i never really follow it up, but it does bug me from time to time

lucky for me, the taste (which is sometimes smoky, sometimes metallic) has gone away quicker than usual this time.. it was only around for 2-3 days, usually it stays for about 7-14 days at a time

i think it has something to do with my hormones sometimes, which might not be too far off?
