busy busy busy

in tracey terms, i'm going to be very busy the next 6 weeks or so. a couple of weddings to shoot (yay!!!), a photography workshop to attend (hooray!), my nautropath appointment is finally coming around (woohoo!), a friend from the UK is coming back to Sydney (yessssss!), a flickr meet or two (weeee!), lunch with the boss (waheyyy!), test shoots to organise (hoorah!), mardi gras to photograph (woo woo!), friends to farewell (booo!), website to redesign (grrr!), business to overhaul (it's about darn time) .. what else?

mischa gets a hair cut

Regan and i gave Mischa the beard cut to top all beard cuts. we let her hair grow a bit wild, but i never realised how matted she was - especially her face and her EARS. you can't really tell in the photos above, but her ears are probably cut down by 80% (i never realised her ears where that SMALL) and her face is down by about 60%. we keep saying how she looks like a real poodle now that we can see her features lol. i'm still tempted to go another round and get her face hair cleaned up some more. i tend to trim her every week or so, it's addictive!!

Regan and i NEEDED a second computer but with no room to spare - i ordered a dell laptop on sunday - and it says it's already shipped! that's so cool and unexpected, now what would be even cooler is that it gets here before the estimated date of arrival (17th). i'm incredibly impatient haha and i won't be around at the end of next week to 'wait' for the delivery update! got the call from the courier, should be here on monday!!

over the weekend, i stumbled upon an ad for a wedding photography seminar / workshop run by a well-known Australian wedding photographer. needless to say, i booked myself in as soon as i could get the day off work and the 'fear' set in - i'm going to be the biggest newbie there, i hope they don't kick me out for being so .. clueless. i'm realllly excited though, i wanted some sort of guidance and confidence this year and i think i'll get it at the seminar.

chinese new year parade, sydneyi'm forcing myself from now on to ALWAYS use fully manual settings on my cameras - no auto, no nothing. i realised i never did it full time before, and how BAD that is - so i'm diving into it and i'm not going to look back! it'll improve my photographs and the approach i have to taking a photograph. i need to be an active learner again! i'm also back to learning more about lighting which has been cool :)

i'm feeling - not the 'best' but OK. i'm really happy that my appointment with the nautropath is next week so i can at least explore alternative therapies. i do think my 'problems' are more to do with my hormones than anything else. i've started taking this new bc pill (already too much info for the men? lol) and it's driving me nuts but i want to stick it out. i'm SO FRUSTRATED with wanting to go outside and have a good time, but feeling so nauseous and sick that i want to race home after 5 minutes. things shouldn't effect you this way and it never had before, which is why i bitch about it so much here. (sorry).

p.s. i'm so so sorry to those who are waiting on an email or private message reply from me. i'm a total scatterbrain right now.

sounds like a full schedule!! congrats on signing up for the photography seminar! I would love to do that, but I'm way too amateur. Be happy and think positive!!

The puppy is soo cute!
I never trim my puppy because she'd look down right retarded if I did, but I try to brush her atleast onces a week. If their hair gets too matted it can effect their blood circulation :/

Any recommendations on a good digital camera in the $300-400 range? I just bought a Nikon Coolpix but ended up returning it because I just got the worst pictures from it 90% of the time (don't have the same problem with other cameras).
