decisions, decisions
I'm kinda stuck as to what I should do... I've just found out that Polaroid will discontinue the film I need for my Holgaroid, which means I need to buy up as much film as I can before the end of the year (or as stocks last). Shipping usually costs the same (if not more) when I order small amount, so it's wiser to buy in bulk.
Not as easy as it sounds because we're on a tight budget, and buying 15-20 packs of film + shipping will at least cost me AUS$400 or so - money that was supposed to go towards the mortgage and a bit for a ring flash I wanted or a new lens I was thinking of getting.
Poor me, right? haha. I know there are bigger things to think about right now - but I've been planning my big 'spring/summer' photographic adventures all year because I adore Sydney when it's hot hot hot. There's alot of life in the city usually, but I find that spring and summer offers alot more to me.
I was really looking forward to using the holgaroid more in the sunshine ...
I can't have everything I want so I've widdled it down to
- Allocating some money to get some polaroid film & shoot as much as I can afford while it lasts. Shoot something really special with what I can get.
- Forget about Holgaroid altogether and go with a new lens/flash at the end of the year as planned.
- Forget about new gear altogether and just be happy.
It would be really sad if I never got to use it again; but then again I might be better off buying more digital gear ..
damn you Polaroid!!

Hey Tracey! I say keep shooting polaroid film while it lasts... don't stock up but don't give it up altogether. And when supplies end, let it be and continue with some new stuff.

Oh man! It's horrid news to have Polaroid pull out their film! I hope you manage to get a good amount to last for a while.

So, what exactly is a Holgaroid? I'm guessing it's a combination of a Holga and a Polaroid, but how exactly does that work? I love the pictures you've taken with it!

move on. if you get a batch of film it will become this precious thing and you won't shoot it, or will hesitate and miss shots. Polaroid made the decision for you. Get new gear with the money.
