one step closer

Regan and I were talking late into the night last night, and to my surprise - he's totally up for painting and decorating the apartment over the summer! Here I was thinking it's never going to get past him..

So now we're figuring out colours and designs.. and sticking to 1 room first. The loungeroom, which is also my office and the room we use most.

One thing we're getting installed first is the LG Art Cool air conditioning unit - we're having an inspection done first to make sure that the only narrow wall it can go on, can be used. Otherwise, it's sweaty city for us until they make a smaller air conditioning unit (that's below 70cm wide). It would be nice to have though, this version of the Art Cool aircon is a picture frame, so I can stick in my photographs and it'll just look like a picture on the wall.

The next thing I want to get rid of is the god awful blinds. When they were building the apartment block, they must of bought it in bulk off the back of a truck because they're pretty ordinary. I was thinking of doing something like this coupled with something like this.

And the lighting! We need to do something about the lighting in this room. They have these terrible ceiling pendants (I think they called that). The one in our bedroom was a hair away from falling on our bodies as we slept. There are 3 out in the living room, so I think we'd remove the middle one and replace it with something focal like this and the other two on each side could be something plainer like this downlight.

That brings me back to choosing wallpaper, so I'm off to cruise York for more ideas ...
