Last week was my daughter’s 1st birthday – and being her first birthday, I wanted to get her a special cake to mark the occasion! While I agree elaborate birthday cakes are probably for the parent’s to oooh and ahh over, I tried to pick a character that she at least recognised – Hoot the Owl, from ABC’s Giggle and Hoot.

We ordered the buttercream frosting on a vanilla flavoured cake – and it was devoured by everyone there. Not too sweet so the kiddies don’t get a sugar rush, but tasty enough for all the adults to want seconds too!
Hoot the Owl was so cute, that I still have him sitting in fridge – I don’t want to let him go!
