After my first foray into making a toy for my daughter (meet Harold the Owl!), I thought it would be cool to see some the soft toy professionals do it best.

one. Blabla – Hercule the Elephant (large) $53.95
Designed by Florence Wetterworld, Hercule is hand made by Peruvian artisans using natural fibres. He’s soft and cuddly and kids love them!
two. Wyler Softie $29.95
100% cotton, knitted in Nepal, this little guy would look adorable sitting with your kids. I love his long limbs and little smile!
three. Soldier Sam Baby hand rattle $15.00
This little guy by Ladedah kids is so cute. Perfect for babies to stimulate their senses.
four. Sophie the Babushka doll $38.00
Made from 100% cotton fabrics and have been filled with an eco friendly corn fibre, Sophie is beautiful and bright and great for kids from 3 months old.
five. Beardy Folk Man Doll $60.00
How awesome is this Beardy Folk Man by Pepper Stitches? He does have buttons (so is not suitable for very small children) but he is made from recycled textiles and wears jeans and boots, has a soft beard and may look like someone you know which is even funnier.
six. Happy Hills Bubba Block $16.00
The Bubba Block comes with a bell inside and ribbons tags, which is also great for kids learning about sounds and textures. Buy more than one and you can use them as stacking blocks too
