Real Children’s Birthday Parties – Max’s Plane Party

If you’ve been reading my baby blog for a while now, you would of seen alot of birthday party inspiration blog posts and children’s birthday cake blog posts. I love birthday parties – it’s often the only time (apart from Christmas) we get to celebrate with family and friends, decorate a little bit and have fun with the food we serve.

Back in December, I was checking out some blogs and stumbled across Max and Me, which is a gorgeous site run by proud mum Tamsyn. Tamsyn threw an amazing plane party for Max’s 2nd birthday and I just had to feature it here on The Australian Baby Blog.

As you can see from just a few of the photos posted, it doesn’t take alot to carry the theme throughout each part of the party.

There’s airplane invitations, plane shaped sandwiches and plane cake toppers. But what I love most is Tamsyn’s creativeness – ‘In Flight Beverages’, ‘In Flight Entertainment’ and the cloud paper packages & decorations!

I don’t think you have to spend a fortune to carry a theme through your party table – it might take a little planning, or you might have to surf the net for inspiration, but it’s the little things that put a smile on kids, big and small. A homemade cake with a themed candle, or you could spend an afternoon cutting out and colouring in special decorations together for the party – it’s all about family and being a part of the joyus occasion. Make memories!

If you ever had to bake cupcakes for your children to take to preschool, you will know that there’s often a list of ingredients that you can’t use. After a round of birthday cakes last week, I’m still surfing the net for great cake ideas for kid’s birthday parties. Call it an early start for the next birthday, but it’s hard to stop looking when the cakes out there are so creative!
