Our 19 month old son was successfully sleeping in his big boy bed, his cot was ready for his baby sister to use but we didn’t feel comfortable letting them share the room from day one. Our solution? Hire a bassinette that could stay in our room for a little while, while we sort out roommates and schedules.

We hired one out for 4 weeks, and it was fantastic to be able to wheel her from our room, and into the bathroom when it was time for her bath. I would definately recommend hiring a basinette for a month or two, especially for those first weeks when night time wakings are everywhere and it’s easier to have bub within reach of you at night.
