so much has happened in a few short weeks – your crawling has progressed into speed crawling, you’ve learnt to pull yourself up onto things (everything!) and you can maneuver yourself around things while standing! <\/p>\n

it’s your very favourite thing to be on your feet – without your walker. you will stand for hours <\/em> non stop infront of the tv (bad mummy!) or just hanging onto the couch and bopping away to your own beat.

\nsince the start of this month, you’ve gone from 2 teeth ..<\/p>\n

to 5 teeth! i haven’t taken a good shot of your 5th, but there’s always tomorrow… i do think your 6th is coming up too but it hasn’t broken through just yet. <\/p>\n

you love to climb on and over things now .. <\/p>\n

your favourite is the bottom level of the change table, and sadly, my head. \ud83d\ude1b you’re getting so adventurous with the standing and cruising, that we can’t use the change table as a change table any more – everything that used to be on the second level had to be moved to the top level – and you now get changed under the play gym since it’s the only place we can distract you long enough to change you… <\/p>\n

you love your little ukulele, but still can’t resist the bigger guitars around the house. you love nothing more than a 10 minute strum and sing-a-long in the morning, and a quick pianosaurus concert twice a day \ud83d\ude42 <\/p>\n

your sleep hit an all-time low a few weeks ago, waking 5-6 times a night – dad and i weren’t getting alot of rest and i came down with a cough. almost at the end of my tether, i contemplated calling the baby whisperer to come out and see us, but instead trusted my (and your father’s) gut and perserved. i bought a safe-t-sleep for you, and re-read my Wonder Weeks information<\/a> – sure enough you were spot on for a sleep regression<\/a> period. a few days later, our first full night’s worth of sleep! and more followed soon after \ud83d\ude42 you’ve taught me patience, kid. and to trust myself to know you and to know when you are and aren’t ok. <\/p>\n

once your sunny period started, you started clapping for the first time<\/a>!<\/p>\n

it caught me off guard, i had been trying to teach you how to clap for weeks (maybe months?) but with no reaction from you, other than a slight anxiety. i’m so proud that you can clap, it must sound strange to people and to you if you’re reading now, but these little pieces of the Jasper puzzle are coming together and it’s so exciting to see \ud83d\ude42 we’re trying to teach you to wave your hand now but all you seem to do is open and close your fist at things… <\/p>\n

you’re also now saying your b’s – bap bap bap, bub bub bub, bo bo bo .. you will say ‘duh’ and ‘deh’ over and over again as if you’re having a conversation with us. i think you say your ‘d’ words when it’s something you like or find most interesting… <\/p>\n

my darling boy, one of the greatest joys of being a parent, your parent, is to see you grow and evolve. i don’t remember life without you, and can’t imagine life without you. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
