yesterday morning, Regan, Jasper and I headed off to the local hospital for the birth centre tour. i’d been so curious as to what the birthing rooms looked like at this new hospital and what their policies are. i’m glad to say that i came away happy and positive about the time i will spend there – both for my antenatal care and for labour\/delivery and post natal \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
to summarise, in the birth centre rooms, there is a double bed, tv, kitchenette, private balcony, ensuite. morphine and gas. Regan can stay overnight with me and i can have 3 support people. any complications, intervention or harder drugs means i get moved to the birth unit rooms (down the hall). as a second time mum i am given 12 hours to deliver – jasper took 11 hours officially so i feel okay with that timeframe. my plan at the moment is to stay home for as long as possible again – and hopefully i won’t need the full 12 hours! <\/p>\n
i’m going to give all natural another try and whatever happens happens \ud83d\ude42 i didn’t aim to have an epidural with Jasper but hey, i felt i needed it at the time and i don’t regret it one bit. i was really happy to not have a birth plan, so that i didn’t feel guilt about what did and didn’t happen – i’ll do the same this time. <\/p>\n
anyway i’ve got a long way until being full term, so right now i’m just going to concentrate on being healthy and happy \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
