this morning i woke up around 4am and i couldn’t get back to sleep. my dad was flying back in from malaysia this morning at 6am and i was reminded that in less than a week i’d be doing the same thing. as soon as we got to the airport i started getting nervous and fidgeting for no real reason except that i know that that’s what it’s going to be like soon. i was actually looking out for him in the crowds, sounds so silly.
\nstrange thing was that i said to my sister jokingly ‘i wonder how many people are here to meet their internet boyfriends’ and the next thing that happens – a woman calls out to her boyfriend ‘now you know what i go through when i visit you, did you get my last email?’. the man said something in his american accent along the lines of ‘it’s better seeing you offline like this’. my sister and i slowly backed out of their moment together, but from what we overheard, they were doing the same thing that Regan and i will be going through soon and in a way it was comforting.
