What's New at IKEA

What's New at IKEA
September 07, 2006

Oooh, I haven't received my new IKEA catalogue yet, but I'm already spotting some things I love on the website.

MUMSA 3 piece bowl, beaker spoon setUDDEN Wall shelfTYLÖSAND One seat sectionFUSION Table and 4 chairsKOMEDI 2 pack glassesSALONG VaseBÄSTIS FLÄCK Food bowl

Love it! Before I continue spawning Paris Hilton like 2 word catch phrases - I should talk about what IKEA has to offer ...

Dog food bowl (or a cat food bowl I guess) - Mischa is in dire need for a new bowl, so this is perfect as it's stainless steel and non-slip. The UDDEN Wall shelf is something that I definately need to check out. We've been searching for affordable, decent wall shelves for our kitchen - for $69, I think we may have found them! And lastly, the FUSION table and 4 chairs. The fact that ALL the chairs can be tucked neatly under the table is a godsend for people like me, who have a tiny apartment. It's a miracle!

I think I know where I'm going this weekend ...

$5 bowls

I'd been wanting to buy some new, bigger dinner bowls for our big pasta and pizza nights (because the pasta and pizza wouldn't fit on the same plate or bowl) and I remembered how great Victoria's Basement in the QVB was when I used to go there with my mum.

I wasn't wrong! These beautiful big irregularly-shaped bowls by BENZER where $24.95 reduced down to $5 each. Can't go wrong with that, so I bought an orange one and a blue one.

same bowl, different price

Ok, so they're not identical but they share the same design principle - plate area with a small sauce bowl attached.

Why post them both? One is $29.95, the other ... $2.95! Bargain.

Demeter Fragrances

I only found out about the Demeter range earlier in the year - and since then I have been obsessed with trying to smell like random things. Raspberry Jam, Dirt, Rain .. even like a Funeral Home. They're wonderful room sprays aswell as fragrances :)

My next obsessions will be the Angel Food Cake Room Spray and the Cranberry Pick-Me-Up Cologne. Yum!

Aussies can pick up the Demeter range at Sweet and Shower cheaper than what you expect to find in US Stores or eBay.

Ludic the WoollyhoodwinkLumenDog DishBeer Glasses

More things I don't need but want want WANT! This e-trip, I went to Elsewares - a beautiful online store with so many pretty shiny things I could get a little spend crazy if tempted any further.

My dog Mischa needs a new food bowl, but I don't think she needs one as sexy as this. Yes, I did say it was a sexy dog bowl ... :P We've also been looking for things to decorate the apartment, and the cool Lumen oil lamp might do the trick. It casts a shadow (depending on which one you buy) onto the wall behind it - I really like 'nest'.

beautiful canvas art for your home!

everyone seems to be putting things onto canvas these days (photographs included) for a customised piece of art for their living rooms - but not all of us are artists. i love the pieces on the kanvas website, they even do 2000mm x 1000mm canvas works! more than 30 designs to choose from, and a range of square and rectangle sizes - it's hard to choose just 1.
