ANTI, not pro

there are many thoughts going in my head right now. i'll try to keep it simple.

as you probably know, i run a few websites. people come and go, they sometimes leave a message in a guestbook. what's disturbing these days, is that young girls are not understanding how dangerous pro-anorexia websites really are. they think it's normal to starve yourself to be thin. they don't see how they are killing themselves. and they want to promote it.

a couple of days ago, i checked on the guestbook of one of my websites and there was a girl that had left her website URL and a message implying she was living this kind of life. of course, i deleted the message because i am not a supporter of this and i don't want this kind of content on any of my websites. but tonight, i checked it again - and there was another one. another girl saying "Envy is the only thing that moves me for getting thinner everyday. " and " I love ana too".

if this is the kind of thing that i seem to be promoting - then what's the point in keeping this website up? i'm shaking my head and picking myself to pieces - how do you get the message through to girls like this? i literally feel sick for them. i was watching oprah tonight (don't rag on me for that) and it was about pro-anorexia websites and how to spot this kind of disease in your children, and it's just made me realise all the more that i don't want to ignore this. it's not enough just to delete their message in my guestbook anymore.

i understand that i'm not to blame, but i feel like it's a responsibilty to help these girls.

what would you do? is their anything i can do?
