alot goes on in a day
in the past 24 hours there's been a major alert for bushfires in our district, it's pretty scary to hear the helicopters flying around your house and the fire engines in the background. i'm still a little out of the way of the bushland, so we're not in any danger, but so many people in glenorie have already lost their homes and today doesn't seem like it's going to get better because of the winds. yesterday's temperature got up to 36 degrees celcius .. i wonder what it's going to be like today
last night was the eclipse that could be seen in Ceduna. from Sydney you could only see 60% (apparently, i watched it on TV instead haha)
i thought this was a great photo aswell - ladies in South Africa looking into the sky
before i forget.. the christmas bugs usually only come around for 1 day in december and here's one that was buzzing around my computer

Christmas beetles! In my primary school days, we used to get excited when we saw one. Those bushfires are awful.... will it ever stop? It's almost as if they come inevitably every year :(

here's ze june beetle/june bug: http://www.gov.on.ca/OMAFRA/english/crops/facts/97-023f5.jpg
"June Beetles (Phyllaphaga spp.): Adults are reddish-brown to black and around 1 inch long. Grubs are white with the dark contents within the body showing through the skin, around 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches long, have six prominent legs, and the spines on the underside of the tip of the abdomen are in the pattern of an elongated diamond. Adults feed on the foliage of plants, while grubs feed on roots."
