holy crap

i took a drive up to the highest point i knew to go.. but even before i got there, when i just pulled around the corner from my house, i was faced with the biggest plumes of smoke this area has seen ever. it's overwhelming, totally overwhelming. i can't imagine what it's like for the people actually fighting those fires right now. i'm so glad that i'm this far away from it. of course, i took a bunch of photos, but you only really need 1 to know how bad it is. it's extremely hot and windy out there. my photos are from the north west fires, i can only just see the top of the southern fires, but i'm sure they're just as bad.

 

Replies: message (1) :( that is really scary. Especially to be able to see it from your bedroom window. I remember on our vacation to Colorado a few years back, as we were driving through the mountains, we could see smoke from the forest fires and it was weird and scary that it was so close. :( *hugs* Posted by Brooke @ 06 december 2002 02:10 AM AEST
