columbia : Mission STS-111
just like everyone, i've heard about what happened today and i wanted to make a little 'positive' comment. while it is a horrible thing for everyone involved to go through (and i never wish that upon anyone to experience), these people died doing something they loved. they got to fulfil their dreams and go into space - not many people get to do that in their whole lives. i'm not saying that 'oh well, at least they got to go into space', i'm saying that from the moment they got into that shuttle they were doing something they worked so hard for and their families should be proud of them. i'm just sorry it ended the way it did

I get what you're saying.
We should all be fortunate enough to find something that we love doing with such passion. I hope I die while doing something I truly love.

well, i just hope that at the end of my life i can say i did something that i truly wanted to do - like have a family and, i don't know, take a great photograph or publish that book i want to do
i reallly don't want to come off as 'oh well' and insensitive about it, but i really can't deal with thinking about the negatives of someone's life when they had a great life, great family, lived their dream and did something huge for their country and themselves. many people die everyday with less than that
