happy australia day!

hello, yes i'm still around! happy australia day and also a belated happy chinese new year!

i started out at 9.30 this morning by walking Regan to work (yeah he had to start back at work today, grr).. but anyway, i'm back now to put my feet up the rest of the day and prepare myself for work tommorrow (another grrr).

the city is so much like new years eve right now! there are so many people walking around and everyone's really friendly and happy :) i walked around to hyde park where they were starting to set up the food stalls and stages, and then walked north along macquarie street to see the car exhibition that went all the way to circular quay almost. i cut across the gardens (and stopped at the band lawn where Regan and i were married!) and walked along the harbour to watch the boat races. i hadn't had breakfast yet so i walked through circular quay and back to george street to pick up a cheeseburger and juice, and made my way back through the centre of the city to pop in and see Regan at work.

by that time, i remembered there was going to be a citizenship ceremony at hyde park so i waited around for it. by far, it was the best thing i saw today - i don't know what it was but it was very cool to see these people become australian citizens and everyone else in the crowd seemed just as happy for them too!

anyway, Regan and i have been busy the past few days. on thursday we went out to fox studios to play some pool and a round of mini golf. out of the blue, we bumped into Pete from the message board i run which was a really cool thing. it was great to see him! friday was spent doing visa things - we have another round of applications to do for Regan's migration visa, this time not so bad but we want to make sure it's all okay. we also picked up sim city 4 as part of our wedding gifts - something that maybe we shouldn't have done because i'm now obsessed with it!

tommorrow, i start back at work for 2004. i'm getting really antsy about it - and have made a half decision to maybe look for another opportunity out there. this year, i want to design my own photographic card set. i want to finish my photography course by the end of next month. i want to finally go on a holiday with Regan. i tend to make semi-big plans and never do them, but this year it will be done!
