night out
headed out to
bungalow 8 last night to catch up with some friends and help celebrate a birthday! i always feel like the youngest person at any bar (probably cause i look like a 12 year old), but last night was cool anyway. big comfy booths and outdoor heating (which probably costs a fortune!), okay music and dvd's on big plasma screens. i looove the lighting in there - but i wasn't there for the lamps :P
i managed to get
some photos last night, not alot. i don't like the 50mm much, so i thought i'd try to get myself to like it a bit more by using it all day yesterday... didn't work :( different lenses for different things!
been making rice krispy treats for Regan since he likes them so much (and let's face it, i don't say no to sugar). vanilla treats : two cups of
rice bubbles mixed with a big handful of melted vanilla marshmallows and a handful of vanilla choc buds. choc treats : two cups of rice bubbles mixed with 125g of dairy milk chocolate and 1 handful of mini marshmallows. pour into tray lined with non stick paper and chill in the fridge for a couple of hours. yum.
so anyway, it's saturday morning and i'm watching
pb&j and getting ready to head out for my saturday adventure walk (aka let's walk in this direction for an hour, then turn right and do the same. then turn again and go up, then get your ass home).
been thinking of going over to
the gaelic club tonight to see brian jonestown massacre, but i don't think Regan wants to go and we probably can't afford two tickets anyway. grrr. that's the problem with trying to photograph bands, you have to pay to get in, which is cool by me (hey, you gotta make money right?) but if you want to go every week (sometimes three times), it gets too expensive...
eudora (pop3 email program thingo) crapped out on me a couple of days ago, so i've lost every email and i don't think i got the chance to read the new ones (it would download them, but then crash). if you wrote to me in the past 4 or 5 days and haven't got a response - send again! i've moved onto
thunderbird since i use outlook express for work stuff only.
(psst: sydneysiders (and maybe elsewhere in australia?) - how many times have you seen an ad for
the day after tommorrow? i'm on 10 million and counting......)

i am stunned that they are called rice bubbles in australia but rice krispies everywhere else (to my knowledge). what about the jingle with snap crackle and pop? doesn't sound as smooth with bubbles. is there an australian product called rice krispies, do you think? who would've thought!
they sound delicious though. i haven't made rice krispie squares in a while.

You can't miss the huge long billboard featuring the Day After Tomorrow that runs across the grain towers next to the Anzac Bridge.
This is second to the Pepsi ads featuring Delta Goodrem. There must be at least 8 -10 different pictures. There plastered all over the city. I've even seen a long billboard of her out in Bankstown.
Hey the girls okay. But give me a break.

I actually haven't seen ads for the Day After Tomorrow but those hideous Delta ads are everywhere. I saw one the first time the other day from afar and I asked my boyfriend who 'that boy was'... ooopss.. Now I can't go anywhere in the city without seeing one. There's even a huuge one on Oxford!
