australian (bird) idol

the weekend has been busy - organising plane tickets, catching art on the rocks, helping my sister out with her uni project, keeping myself away from the new krispy kreme shop at wynyard, catching up with my parents and their new (FIFTH) fish tank, filling up the tank at $1.04 a litre, freezing in the shade and warming up in the sunshine, cleaning cleaning and more cleaning ...

i also stopped by the australian idol auditions (NOOO not to audition! i already know i'm bad at singing, don't need a tv show to tell me :P) a few times since it's on the way to and from our place, and i swear to god each time i passed by there was no one there! we pretty much figured out that they gave them all place numbers in the morning and told them to come back at a certain time - but the only thing i saw lining up was that seagull... haha

Regan and i have pretty much settled on stopping by San Francisco on the way back to Sydney, so if you have suggestions on where to stay, where to visit and what to do - feel free! we only really have 3 or 4 nights to spare

to finish off - i finished my freelance photography course! yay! i got my mail back today and i passed my last tutorial (which i had put off because i wanted to really think about my future with photography). i'm grateful to have gotten such good comments from my tutor - something that i need really, just to give me more confidence. i want to be realistic about everything, and not get caught up in the excitement of it all. it's more important, to me right now, to not screw up my future before i even get there

Sounds like you'll have a great trip and that cute seagull will probably wow the judges.

Since you're so great I thought I'd tell u (and your readers) about the new project that I am starting in the US. Sorry, I know you don't live in the US but I still wanted to tell you in case you knew anyone who'd be interested. It's a group blog to make fun of the Big Brother 5 reality show in the Us. More info @ the url above if anyone is interested.

Congrats on the result!
Funny you mentioned San Francisco, I just came back from there for Memorial Day weekend.
It is a beautiful city, even the surrounding areas. 3-4 days should be more than enough. To-go list: Golden Gate Bridge, Golden Gate Park, Presidio, Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz, SBC Park (Baseball), Lombard Street, Mission Dolores, Nob Hill, Chinatown, Japantown, North Beach, Union Square.
You can drive through the city easily - signs everywhere. Don't forget the Clam Chowder in bread basket at the wharf!
