sometimes, it's nice to be busy
especially at work, time flies when you're piled under a million things. before you know it, it's home time! yippee!
the weekend, as predicted, was very cool. saturday, walking, pilates, walking, more walking, fabric shopping, husband visiting and then a family dinner. (we won't mention the wallabies lost, ok?). sunday, sleep in time, cleaning, grocery shopping (which we've gotten down to a science - only 30 mins there and back again!), general lazing about, portishead & sealab dvd watching, bag sewing and another nice pizza dinner.
i should mention that i have been watching the olympics, and last week i was mesmirised by the gymnastics. what kind of person can just flip like that? woah.
in between all that, the bandage i was wearing on my burn has come off (mum & dad's orders) and now everyone can see my comet/bird shape multicoloured hole on my waist. ew. this is meant to be a nice photo of Regan and me at dinner but you can see part of it yourself. ew ew.
the weather has been amazingly beautiful the past couple of days - blue skies and the temperature was above 22 degrees! yiipppe! there was a bit of chubby rain yesterday, but strangely enough that was amazing too (i like the smell of big fat summer rain).
as i always talk about, i attempted another bag, this time a variation of the usual bag i make. luckily, home yardage (a fabric/sewing/craft store) is really close to the apartment so i can get some good fabrics for $2 a metre.. poochy was only about $1.50 to make!
... and with that, i've decided i've hardly taken any photos at all this month and i need to get back into it. i think the trip will help alot, and i've decided to do a kind of behind the scenes thing at
shutterbug while i'm away. you'll see......

i'm definitely going to have to check out home yardage, it seems. i can't find good fabric ANYWHERE. (though picked up some cute sheep fabric flannellette from spotlight the other day. yay!)
do you use a pattern for your bags at all? because if you can just do it from scratch i am INSANELY JEALOUS. >:

sandy, my brain doesn't compute with patterns. i followed the pattern for the ducky pants i made, and it boggled my mind!
absolutely go to HY, in fact go there now! now!! now!!! i'd go there everyday if i was crazier than i am now.
erika, b&w photo? the poochy photo is coloured! i guess there's not alot of contrast :P

weird, really? now that i squint i can slightly see the green in the purse. your close up makes this look black and white.
i'm insanely jealous too.
