tail end of the week

monday morning came with a greeeatt start when i learnt that i would be handling the entire business on my own for the week. sure, i did it and it turned out fine (eventually), but hey - i'm not paid to do 800% more than i'm supposed too. grrrrr.

regan and i have been apartment hunting for a couple of months again - trying to find a 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 carspace unit than rivals where we live now. it's way too comfy here which makes it hard to want to move, but the extra rooms will ultimately give me a semi-permanent studio to play around in, and regan a music room to go nuts in. (currently, we live in a loft which means noise travels and there isn't ANY storage space or real privacy from any one else in the apartment). my sister is already planning the 'sleepovers' she'll have on the saturday nights in our 'spare' room.

mum actually wants us to buy a place already, but i don't think so. unless a dream apartment comes on the market, and we're crazy enough to commit a whole bunch of money or we win the lottery, then we'll be renting & moving around a little while longer. we might even opt to move further north/west if the rent and apartments appeal ... though we love the city alot.

taken by my sister, the blurriest and only photographic evidence of regan/tracey dance - just for fun

i've been entertaining the idea of heading out to vietnam just before christmas, for a short tour to get some photographs. heh, in my dreams right? it'd be awesome to do though.

regan is looking around for a course to do, maybe something in sound engineering. he's also going to try for his drivers licence! oooh... regan driving is something totally new to me! i've never seen him behind the wheel.

i seriously seriously need to get off my ass and get some photography work, or at least more experience. i'm shopping around for new lighting gear (even though i don't have the space to set it up) and trying to work up the damn courage to actually do some self advertising. man, i'm gonna be soo good at this (sarcasm anyone?). my confidence is the worst lately. the worst. anyone have any photography tips for me? anyone want to give me a boot up the ass already?

Tracey~ Your work is some of the best ive seen. you have an amazing knack for making just about ANYTHING look exceptionally cool. You have a great eye for photography - just step out there and do some things you wouldnt normally do......matthew

woahh.. i just find it kind of surprising considering you two are both grown adults, who are married, yet he doesn't even have his driver's licence yet?

hehe, g'luck to him then :)

i'm giving you the boot up the ass because i can honestly say, without just giving you lip service, that i think your eye for things is amazing. i have drooled over many of your pictures...many days. so get to snapping lady!!!

your work is amazing and is an inspiration to me :) and all i have to offer is good luck to you while job hunting and whatnot.

Oh girl I'm going through the same lack of inspiration. But in film, not photography. I'm very very excited about my current color photography class, but my film classes are lagging behind. All I can say is hang in there. Plus you're so bloody talented girl! :) :) :) Good lucks to you!

I know it's scary Tracey, but once people start coming to you, it feel AMAZING. Just jump in the water headfirst or you'll never know! You do amazing work, people will def. bite. :)

oh, oh my. i am at my boyfriend's house right now, doing all the internet stuff i normally do as if it was the first time because he just got a brand new, flat panel 17" samsung monitor for his computer. at home, all i was used to was a laptop monitor which wasn't that great, and a janky old one i'm currently using with my desktop. while i have attempted to calibrate my monitor as best as possible, i know the quality isn't as great as it should be.. and i am viewing all of your photos on this brand new monitor, viewing photos the way they should be viewed, and they look absofuckinglutely wonderful. :) i have always enjoyed your photos ever since i first saw them, but now i am enjoying them all over again because they look a MILLION TIMES better on this monitor instead of mine lol. i am missing out on wonderful, sharp clean color.

Stop fishing for compliments and get snapping, girl... :D

ale, i'm really really not fishing for anything except for encouragement in the business sense. that's what i lack. i have no drive to ask people for money for my photographs... but i know i can't live on air the rest of my life.

thanks for all the comments so far though, it means alot to me that people support me in this in some way

ecilia, regan's only been a resident in this country for a short while (and with little time to spare since we both work full time and on different schedules). that's why he doesn't have a licence yet! we've had no need for a second driver yet anyway
