San Francisco, Oct 2004.
Being in San Francisco, being in the US, was different for me in alot of ways. The people, the buildings, the way of life.
San Francisco is the first 'big American city' I stayed in - and upon arriving, the beauty stunned me visually. The image of a homeless man on his wheelchair, making his way down the street through a plume of steam billowing from a grate on the road.. That's when I knew things where different, and how exciting it was to experience it.
Ok ok, so you might not think it's anything special - a man on the street, but inspiration is what it is. I don't think you need to find the 'extraordinary' to be lifted up.
Anyway, I didn't manage to capture it on camera, and i think it's good that way. Makes me want to strive to match it in the years to come. In the meantime, these are my favourite 'street' photographs of SF.
