quality over quantity

on this note, shutterbug will be updated with new photos whenever i have them, rather than a photo a day.

i've been posting a photo a day since september 17 2002, over a year now! but i've decided to rather than post snapshot type photos, i want to spend more time putting together series' and special shoots. using the 10D has been a big step forward for me and i want to spend the extra time creating stronger images that represent me more, aswell as take the time to learn with the new camera. i think there are too many people out there who are just posting photos of 'whatever' to fill out their gallery and i don't want to slip into that.

who knows, i could keep posting a photo a day if that's how many quality photos i'll take! the rehash will start in november (or whenever i get off my ass to redesign and code) until then ...

for the record, the lenses i have for the 10D are the 28-105mm f/4-5.6 USM and 50mm f/1.4 USM

Gah I feel that way with my gallery somewhat. I need to start editing my photos more...

Oh no! I need those beautiful photos every day! Truth is, I felt the same way about my photoblog. And then I got married, so that has put a stop to it for the time being. But shutterbug has been the single most important influence in me getting something up and running again. I'll keep tuning in anyway. Thanks Tracey. I like all you do.

very understandable, but still a shame. my daily dose of shutterbug really inspires me ... it is one of the first things i do when i get to work. quality, though, will win out over quantity i'm sure. you have to do what makes sense, and what makes you happy.

With those two lenses, do you ever feel like you need a wider angle? With my Canon EOS Digital Rebel (300D), there's a field of view crop of 1.6x, so that makes my 18mm lens about a 28.8mm. With your 28mm, it becomes a 44.8mm lens, right? I think the 10D has the same image sensor as my camera.

Just wondering your thoughts on that.

After just recently discovering your site, I'm anxious to see what your "good" photos will turn out like. I've loved the shots I've seen so far.

Cheers!
Brad

i do think that i'll probably keep up the photo a day, but i think i just wanted to explain that i'm not 'going anywhere' just wanting to put more important images up from now on. it's incredible that people visit me everyday, and i want to give them GREAT photos, not just something that i took and was 'decent'.

brad, i'm definately eye-ing a wider angle lens - the 50mm feels too limiting sometimes. not sure what to get though since buying lenses is a relatively new thing to me!

brandi, the 10D was a couple/few grand all up. i work my ass off for pretty things :P
