to my darling baby boy,
you’re now seven months old!
this past month has been so much fun for all of us! your grandma sharon and uncle ryan came to visit 🙂 you had such a great time with them and they had such a great time with you, too
you went to alot of new places while they were here – Taronga Zoo, Sydney Aquarium (which I think you loved the most), Botanic Gardens, Opera House and through the city streets. we even went to Featherdale Wildlife Park where you stared down one of the kangaroo’s. you’re a great traveller – which makes it easy for us to want to show you all the things we think you’d like 🙂
you got to spend alot of time with grandma and uncle ryan – though the 2 weeks did go by really fast, i wish they could of stayed a bit longer but there’s always next time. we hope to see them again real soon – maybe a trip to the states when you’re a bit older?
i really adored the time we spent together as a family – the longest time your daddy and i have had off together since the first week you were born. i’d love to be able to spend 24/7 with you ..
you were a very good boy while there were here, you always are anyway, but i love that you are so charming and giggly around everyone. you especially love the new toys grandma brought you – you’ll actively seek out the colourful ring stack and commando crawl or roll towards it. your new little tonka truck is another new favourite – but you seem to love standing (assisted) even MORE.
you do this new thing where you start flat on your back, and once you latch your hands onto my fingers, will pull yourself up into a standing position. it’s pretty impressive for such a little guy!
you have some strong strong legs and a set of lungs to match 😛 you love to stand and jump so much that we’re thinking about getting you a jumperoo and reinforcing our ceilings and floors to cope with the constant bounce bounce bounce we know you love.
another new skill is being able to grab seperate things with both hands now – and bang them together, lol. you’ve perfected the art in blowing raspberries, and also learnt that the coffee table has some interesting stuff for you to crumble into balls (e.g. photographs we hadn’t stored away properly yet)
you’re sleeping well still, with exception to a few nights here and there. you seem to love to wake at 5am though but that’s ok with us. you still bless us with at least 6 hours of sleep straight so we’re not complaining with a little early wake up call.
your bottom teeth are coming in further – and we think your top teeth are bothering you in the past week or so. your hair is becoming thicker and darker but i think you’ll have the same hair colour as your daddy. your eyes are still a dark brown, but your aunty hayley saw some specs of green in them the other day. you’re still scratching your face up, so your daddy calls you ‘scarface’ on those days 😉
everyone’s still guessing who you look like most at this point – I think you look like your daddy, but there’s definately a bit of me in you
i think you recognise it too – i love seeing the way you look at your daddy, and when you lock eyes with me, i know there’s something in you that switches on 🙂 it’s something i hope we never lose, but i’ll treasure anyway. i don’t know whether you’ll be this happy to be around me when you’re 16 and too cool to hang out with your mum 😉
you’re becoming such a wonderful character, Jasper. as corny and soppy as it sounds now and whenever you get to read this entry, i sometimes look at your perfect little face with your big eyes looking back at me and i wonder what i ever did to be so lucky to have you in my life.
that feeling, i know, will never ever change.
love, mum x
