to my lovely Jovie,
i cannot believe that you’re already 2 months old! this last month feels like it’s gone quick AND slow at the same time
i’ve made sure to really soak you all in and watch you, minute by minute, day by day – i think about you and your brother all the time, it’s amazing how much love you can feel for more than one person, i never knew.
your daddy’s been back at work for a while now, so we get alot of one on one time, you, your brother and i – and i love finding out new things about you. like how your arms will flail around, dancing to their own tune which even surprises you.
your eyes now follow us around the room – you love nothing more than to watch your daddy and Jasper play, and you love to stare into my camera like a real beauty queen
you’ve started to show us your gorgeous smile lately and you’ve had a few little chats with the whole family. i’m trying hard to get you on video, talking and smiling, but like i said – beauty queens tend to pose as soon as a camera comes out 😉
PRAISE BUDDHA – you’ve started to sleep through the night! a couple of weeks ago, actually, and we’re so grateful! i start back at work next week and was prepared to work like a zombie if you weren’t ready, but thank the lord you’ve been able to settle yourself back to sleep and you’ve even stopped using your dummies. you’re a big girl, Jovie 🙂 thank you thank you! you do have a little bit of a sinus problem though, most of the day and night we can hear you breathing heavily, or sniffling loudly – but we knew you didn’t have a cold. the Dr checked you out, and yep, sinus is a little narrow but you’ll grow out of it.
you had your first round of immunisations a couple of weeks ago also, and you did quite well with them (and so did i!). beet red face, a big cry, and you had a longer nap than usual, but other than that – all good! at 6 weeks old, you weighed 5.78kgs and was 58cms long – which is heavier and longer than your brother at the same age, which prompted the Dr to ask whether you were an overdue baby because you seemed more ‘advanced’ than other babies your age. i take that as a compliment, and so should you, ok? 🙂
life does feel like it’s the way it’s meant to – food tastes great, weather is slowly getting warmer, everyone’s healthy and we feel complete with you around.
