I don’t think you and I over here in our comfortable chairs, roof over our heads and food & clean water waiting for us in our refrigerators can really understand what it’s really like over in Haiti at the moment. It’s hard to imagine the loss and devastation, the terror and the sorrow.
I’ve been thinking of what I can do, not just when big things like this happen, but what can I do for people that are suffering even without a tragedy such as the monumental earthquake – and as much as we can’t afford to send thousands of dollars over, I can do this. And I can do this every now and then, earthquakes or not.
So today, I’m going to donate the money it would of cost me to buy dinner tonight, to the Oxfam appeal for Haiti. $50. A couple of pizzas and drinks. That’s not alot to ask and we can eat beans on toast tonight, that’s fine. If you’d like to do the same, please visit Oxfam Australia and make your donation too.
