newsletter: month eight

to my darling sweetheart, Jovie

at eight months old, you are becoming quite the little princess. not satisfied with sitting up on your own, you HAVE TO BE ON YOUR FEET and you HAVE TO DO IT YOURSELF. and oh my, this gives mummy heart palpitations..

at christmas, you were happy to hold our hands ..

and today, you’re shuffling yourself up and down lengths of the couch and the tv cabinet all on your own ..

and also climbing and grabbing everything you can and getting into all sorts of trouble ..

of course, you wouldn’t go anywhere without your big brother, you’re still so in awe of him which is why we think you’re trying to walk so fast, so soon. you love to sit at the window with him, and he’ll point out the trees and grass and cars to you..

Jasper likes to get out the green worm tunnel and tries to ask you to climb in… sometimes you do and sometimes you don’t. you both don’t understand as much as the other would like, but it’s really good to see you both enjoying each other’s company. (and, by the way, it took your brother about a month before he went down the tunnel on his own accord. you? you took about 1 minute)

in this past month, it was your first christmas! we had a great time celebrating christmas morning as a family of four – you don’t understand christmas aswell but you’re always happy 🙂
merry christmas!!

you’ve still got these gloriously chubby thighs that i love to bite into, if you’re going to be like your brother, they won’t stay around too much longer now that you’re walking around a bit.. i’ll miss them

in the past week, you’ve become really unsettled – we think it’s mostly teething (3rd tooth poking through now) and also a combination of milestone and growth. all that walking, i think you’ll skip crawling properly (all fours) and go straight to running! and even though you’re waking up 2-3 times a night, we still adore you so. you always have a smile, always want to chat (you definately know your ‘dadda’ and ‘mumma’ and can wave ‘hi’ and ‘bye’) and every night when you go to sleep, i can’t wait for the next day.

i’ll love you always, your mama xx
