my sweet little princess, Jovie
you’re officially nine months out (after nine months in, lol)… and just as adorable and clever and as sweet as can be. you’re very scary though.. this past month has seen you quickly graduate to creeping …

to using the walker on your own!

you’re a very adventurous little girl, who loves her brother so much that you get anxious when he leaves. you’ll be happy to know that he loves you just as much and often asks ‘where jovie go?’ and likes to get you to chase him with his trains, around the house. daddy has been encouraging you both to wrestle a bit more – which you love too – all of you 3 giggling together makes my heart sing and my eyes cringe for fear that you’ll get hurt, though you never do.

with all the action, you’re starting to slim down like your daddy and your brother, .. i kinda hope that the nickname ‘baby fat legs’ sticks with you a little longer, my baby girl is growing up so fast, that any remnants of babyhood i try to savour.
you’ve been getting better and better at crawling –

.. though we think you’ll go straight to walking in the next 6-8 weeks or so
you’re getting good at finding daddy or Jasper, waving hello and often join in with Jasper as he sings, or says ‘no’ or yells out. you’re a good little drummer and love it when there’s a beat.
we had our first family portrait taken a couple of weeks ago, and oh boy did you HATE IT, at first. no one had seen you cry like that before and we had to stop for a while because you set off your brother too, but luckily, after some coaxing from me, you calmed down and turned into a supermodel. the shots that came back (that unfortunately we couldn’t afford to buy) were PRICELESS, you really hammed it up to the camera.
you’re only just starting to now notice the television – thomas the tank engine and king of the hill are you favourites, it seems! still, you’d rather practice your walking or sit at the window with Jasper, which is just fine by me.
even when you wake me and your dad up at all hours of the night, it makes me happy that you’re calling for us, your ‘mumma’ and ‘dadda’. every spare moment that i have with you and your brother, is making my life that much better each time and that kind of joy is priceless.
i love you always, your mumma x
