my darling Jovie,
today you are 10 months old …

… and while this photo makes you look a little sad, you’re actually the happiest little pumpkin i know.
your brother is only 19 months older than you are, but your daddy and I cannot remember him being so chirpy and vocal and fearless (though he probably was!). but your enthusiasm for adventure and loud noises and the vacuum cleaner, is so charming 🙂
you’re scooting and crawling in lightning speed which has come in handy for when you play chasies with your big brother and daddy –
playtime! from Jasper & Jovie on Vimeo.
it’s adorable to see you interact with your brother – he doesn’t even mind it when you climb all over him, scratching out his eyes and pulling on his hair.
you’re getting better at spotting out things and playing with them – you know how to find balloons and the pillow. you know what ‘no’ means, and have your own words for milk, boo, and kiss. you’re a little lady, with a cheeky streak that we love so much.
self settling has become your thing lately – if you’re really unsettled, all we need to do is lay your head on a pillow and you’re out like a light. (now, you’re not supposed to have a pillow at this age – but we only allow it if we’re sitting right next to you. i worry too much to let you have one in your cot, on your own, right now.)

this past week, i’ve been home with you and your brother, and it has been the best few days ever. you’re able to climb up onto the couch on your own now – if i haven’t put down a pillow for you to use as a step, you’ll climb over to the bumbo and use that instead – very resourceful! you’re scaling the walls alot more too – but your favourite place to be is the couch and you love nothing more but crawling/scaling back and forth from one end to the other. thank goodness you’re also great at slowly coming down on your own, or falling/rolling off so you don’t hurt yourself! that’s what the extra ‘seating’ is for, i guess? lol.

things are going by so quickly now, and we make a note of that every day – you will always be my baby girl, but i cannot wait to see what you’re up to next

love always, your mumma x
