I thought I’d totally missed it – but there’s still about 25 minutes to go until the 2010 Earth Hour here in Sydney
I think it’s great to think about doing things like this – but it shouldn’t be a novelty 😉

Hey! Found your blog through the photo challenges page (really cool by the way). Hope you don’t mind me dropping by…?
Have been taking active part in Earth Hour for a few years now, myself.
I know exactly what you mean but, we live in an imperfect world and if this event gets people thinking about the climate and motivates them to make any changes (however minor) -it’s a big deal, in my book.
You might wanna check out an original overview of the Hour worldwide here….
Take care 🙂
Thanks for leaving your comment Imogen 🙂
Oh, I do agree with you – it’s great to get people thinking about the climate – definately. But I think many people have forgotten this year, because it feels like a novelty. They think about doing it, but then prefer to be watching tv or going out somewhere. It needs to be become second nature to us, rather than a calendar date 🙂
It it were more regular an event, or there is something we can do every Wednesday (for example) then I think it will get people working it into their schedules even more.
Those photos are really beautiful!
