In less than 2 months time, my baby girl Jovie will turn 1 year old! And this milestone, while a huge thing for my Jo, is important to me aswell. I promised myself to take it easy after Jovie’s birth and not be obsessed with slimming back down to a size 8 – a task, frankly, that I am fine to say may not ever happen. However, part of that promise was to evaluate my fitness 12 months post pregnancy and do something about it!
On Monday…. Regan and I finally took the plunge and bought a Wii! We’d heard and seen how fun it was, and it was something that we could do together at home. I’m not a gamer, but seeing how active you can be playing Wii sports, perked my interest. I’ve been finding it hard to get outside for a walk or run regularly because of the weather and the kids, and I can’t commit to a gym right now – so this is better than nothing, right? I’m not looking to be buff – just to have an alternative to sitting on my butt when I could be up and bouncing around.
One of the games that I definately wanted was the EA Sports Active – More Workouts, specifically for their 6 week challenge – and because they mention AB work!! I believe my abs are cuddled up nicely with a layer of fat and they just need to be coaxed out again, lol.
This morning, I started my 6 week challenge and I feel pretty good about it so far. You can tailor the workout to fit your schedule (take out part of the workout to make it a quicker workout, change intensity) and it monitors your progress throughout the 6 weeks. It will also try and push you a bit and see what you can do.
So day 1, and all is well. I’ll update each Wednesday to see how it’s going and whether I recommend doing it. So far, I really love the boxing!
Let me know if you’ve had a go at the 6 Week Challenge and what kind of results you got!
