i’m creating a new series for the photographic projects blog called me and my camera.
at first i just wanted it to be photographs of ourselves, with our favourite camera. but then i thought, there’s always a story behind the camera/s we use – when you got it, why you chose it (or why it chose you) and what have been your favourite photographs with it. i really enjoy inspiring people to take photographs, and i’d really like to make the connection between the photographer and their camera.
my favourite camera is not the one in the photo above (so i’ll need to get a new photo taken!) – it’s my lomo lca. i think i first saw some lomo lca photos online on someone’s photo blog and from there it was a HUNT to get my hands on my own…. it was just before there was a lomo faze, so luckily i was able to track one down for about AU$40 on ebay!
it’s such a great film camera, the colours that can come from it are amazing which is why i still love it so. it’s an effortless camera, though if you do try a little, you get some fantastic photographs from it.

i also like that it’s a film camera, in a world of eleventy billion digital cameras, i think the lomo lca still stands out and is a little special 🙂
