Jovie turns 4!

A bit of a belated birthday post…

My dearest baby girl Jovie turned 4 on May 21st, and I couldn’t be prouder of her.

This past year has been strange & good, last year on her 3rd birthday we were still waiting for the DNA results that would eventually diagnose her with Rett Syndrome. There was still alot of ‘what do we do’ moments because nothing had really settled, but a year on I think we have more of an idea of Jovie’s immediate future.

Jovie’s a much happier and settled little girl now, alot of personality and of course so so sweet. Of course Rett will always be present in her life, but I see her shining through all the time. With the baby due any day now, I know she anticipates the new arrival just as much as Jasper does. I cannot wait to see her be a big sister!!

It’s really comforting to see her become more social and affectionate over the past year, not so withdrawn and scared. She’s a brave girl, and I hope to see bloom further and further…

Happy birthday Jovie!

I’m so glad to hear that she’s developing and growing and coming into her own… She’s going to be such a lovely big sister, there’s a whole lot of love she has to give to her baby brother.

Best of luck with these last few weeks before your brand new son arrives… I’m putting it out there, i’m expecting a J…. P…. H…. name so he matches his siblings. Guess i’ll just have to wait and see 😉
