explanations & anticpation

so i guess it’s about time i wrote why steve-burns.com was closed over the weekend?

alot of the regulars at the message board there (the buzz, which has also closed) definately saw it coming and know the main reasons why. for those who weren’t aware, the buzz had some personality clashes, nothing major but major enough for people to hold grudges, start acting crazy, there was paranoia, there were survivor-like alliances (well, not really) and most of all the steve support had turned into something .. strange. the dynamics of steve-burns.com had changed within the past year and we all knew it wasn’t going to be fixed if we just kept going.

steve-burns.com had been a part of my life for over 2 years, and with the help of steve himself, it became a good place to meet up with other fans. i am sad to see it go, but i know it’s going to a better place (the domain will still live on with steve) and that the closure of my version of the site will be a positive thing rather than negative. i’ve met alot of great people from the buzz, and i know others have also, which is the way i like to remember it all.

and for the last time, he’s NOT DEAD.
(i should write up statistics on how many times i’ve been asked that in 3 years).

next entry will most probably be a psycho radiohead related post. i have radiohead induced excitment problems. 😐 (i thought it was effecting me more than it should, but it turns out it was just my lactose intolerance… )

Thanks for the explanation, Tracey. It was definitely not expected but appreciated. The Buzz was an integral part of my very first episode of fanaticism and, regardless of the last few months, will be fondly remembered. I thank you for that, too.

I have wondered, never got much of a straight answer, what made Steve leave the show? And Is Joe REALLY his brother? Its a shame my son LOVES him, thats his hero! But I like his music and never realized hes multi talented…

That’s so cute… you and Regan met because of Radiohead and now you’re going to see them together. Awww.

Went to Mayer last night at the big arena. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I had pretty good seating so it still somewhat felt like an intimate performance. He is heaps cockier (on stage) than he has ever been. The crowd was eating out of his hand.

I also won tix to the Mayer performance on the Fox rooftop which was good. All acoustic.

I miss 2002 when it was just you, me and some other girl (called Claire I think) who used to post on the BBS.

Oh, how times have changed.

That’s too bad, Tracey. I mean, you do what you have to but it’s just sad that immature people had to be the reason why a good project like that had to shut down. You worked hard on it. I’m sorry. You’re more understanding than I would be.

sorry to see it go. i figured it would need to happen eventually. it was a great place, tracey. my FAVOURITE place online. thanks for the fun. thanks for making me feel at home 🙂
