the weekend update

one day late …

friday i allocated to hold my winter shopping ‘spree’ (that’s me with my birthday money and a full tank of petrol). i hadn’t been down to the westfield bondi junction yet, so off i went! although i spent 4 hours there (an hour dedicated to just finding where to pay the damn parking fee, which turns out you pay it on your parking level – though mine didn’t have a parking station, hence the confusion and this very long explanation sentence), i didn’t go into any of the designer shops because i felt like that gross thing you find at the back of the fridge compared to the sales people in there… haha

so anyway, i came back with a couple of new things – one being my the snuggly ugg boots that are keeping my feet warm as we speak!

saturday was my first photobloggers meetup with Amanda of Shutterfly, James of JiMagery and Lana of Place and Thyme who is down in Australia for vacation. i took an early morning stroll from chinatown and we met up at circular quay for the short walk across the bridge to luna park.

i definately should mention and thank them all for putting up with my crazy crazy fear of heights – we all wanted to take a ride on the ferris wheel, but in the last few minutes before getting on i remember i hated heights. nevertheless, we all went up and round and round and round, and it wasn’t too bad – until we stopped right up the top and James wanted to stand up and the thing started rocking…. luckily, Amanda continued to distract me with photography talk as i stared at my shoes and not outside. haha. it wasn’t so bad though, way better than Sydney Tower!!

a series of photos i took that day is posted up at shutterbug. i definately recommend getting together with other photobloggers or photographers if you can!

sunday was mother’s day and i drove back to my family’s house to hang out with my parents. on the way i popped in to see my sister at work since i hadn’t seen her in a while, and picked up some fish’n’chips (mum’s favourite) for lunch. i think mum had a good day… it’s hard to tell with her but she did get the annual new alarm clock – this year with added cd player! (she loves her clocks)

which brings us to monday where amber won survivor (and got engaged).. and to tuesday where i should get back to work

I love this picture of us, you’ll have to email a copy! I am going to have to pick up a pair of those boots too – so cool.

Hi! Speaking of shopping I saw a picture of your bag in one of your archive pages. I think this is it – http://sh1ft.org/archives/00000545.html – and I was wondering where you actually bought it. I’ve been looking for a decent sized bag for uni [I’m a bit of a pack rat so a smaller bag wouldn’t suffice] that I can just sling in my shoulder and yours is the perfect size.

Thanks!

p.s. I’ve been to Bondi westfield for the first time last Friday as well and I wouldn’t even go near those ‘international designer’ shops. Too scary!

sorry Jaemie 🙁

hi Lana! i’ll get to that in the morning 🙂

Jade, i don’t think you can buy those bags anymore sadly.. my sister has wanted one since i got it, and the store i bought it in (dangerfield) don’t stock them anymore (i think it was an end of season sale).. the closest i’ve seen to it is at David Jones for like $500!!!! eeeep.

The first thing I thought of when I saw your boots was the first few scenes of Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle with the Angels frolicking about in a Russian bar. Lol. Your boots look uber cool, but I know I can never carry them off! Hmm, take a photo the next time you wear them , all right? It’ll definitely look very funky.

hey! your new uggs are cute–i like the round shape at the front. what style is it? i ordered my uggs last month and i won’t get them til sept or october. the stores don’t carry them as they are backordered everywhere for several months. well, obviously not in australia (of course!). not fair!
