i’ve had a couple of calls from the organisers of the city of sydney – sydney life comp, over the past couple days. the problem? my photo was on a shortlist BUT the file seemed to be corrupted; and after a re-burn and personally dropping off the file to the office – it still didn’t cut it. bummer.
i guess it’s frustrating to hear that yes, your photograph is great and everyone on the panel was interested in it – but because it can’t be reproduced at the high scale they needed it, it can’t be put through. grrrr.
it is encouraging though, my first try at any photography competition/exhibition – one of my favourites that the city puts on – and they took the time to call me and get me to figure out the file problem. i even had a few nice comments from the panel passed onto me, which is surprising and they’re looking out for me in future competitions … blah, i’m just so disappointed and i really need to figure out why the file wasn’t good enough so this doesn’t happen again.
oh well, maybe next year …
