Friday at 6pm, if I have nothing planned for the night, I’m at my most relaxed.
It’s the happiest time of the whole week – the longest point from work, and at least 2 full days to do whatever the heck I need or want to do.
On Friday at 6pm, I’ve logged off the computer already (hopefully), I’ve changed into my trackies and I’ve already got dinner going. I settle on the couch ready for The Simpsons to come on and I pick Mischa up for a good ole scratch and cuddle.
Regan gets home from work soon after, and we catch up on our days and start to wind down. Usually, I’ll get out a notebook and start to write down where I need to go over the weekend.
Dinner‘s ready within no time, and I’m happily munching away and fending off Mischa from munching on my dinner too. I like to cook a real dinner and share it with my family, so you’ll often find me arranging the plates carefully only to destroy it in one swoop when we eat.
After our meal, we leave the plates to soak in the sink and I get onto the laptop to check the day’s emails and catch up on some sordid gossip that I love so much.
This is the point of the night where I think how cool Firday at 6pm is, cool enough to dedicate a whole post about it 😉
I’m a day late, only just saw this today – but I thought I’d give it a whirl in my own crazy way. I’ll set myself a goal of posting every 2nd day or more if I can (we’ll see).
I guess my aim is to improve my writing skills (ha, what skills?) and to open up a little more because this place is gathering dust and the tumbleweeds are coming by.
When I started blogging years ago, I didn’t put much thought into making it anything more than ‘here’s what I did today’ and I think I’m regretting it a little bit now. I wish I had put more thought into what I’ve said, and maybe I would be a little different today.
These days I am feeling a little bit older, but at the same time I feel so young and so inexperienced. I look at my friends and they are so well versed and have stories and lives that blow me away. I want to have that for myself, so that when I stand in a room with the people I can relate to, I don’t feel like a kid on the first day of school.
I do have lots of things to post about in this upcoming month of blogging, and I’ll try not to sound too emo (is that what the kids call it these days?) but I think it will be good therapy to just keep posting. I won’t have my comments enabled, but you can email me or msg me via flickr anytime.
If you have a question you want me to answer on my blog, email me! That should be fun.
so this is the part where I step up and proclaim that my John Mayer fixation is still in effect. it went away during the ‘heavier things’ period and is now back with his new record ‘continuum’…
now, i’m not the active groupie i used to be. i’m not into paying $80 so that a taller and more obsessive 16 year old can trample me in the stampede for front row spots. i’m not into the screaming and crying and fan sign ‘MARRY ME JOHN’ holding, and i’m not up for standing in line for hours and hours just for the chance that OMG HE LOOKED AT ME. (i was never that kind of fan girl, thank the lord).
nope, my fixation is now delegated to the comforts of my loungeroom and my tv & cd player, reading his blog and the warm memories of the times i got *that close* to being Mrs John Mayer (sorry Regan, haha).
hunter hotel, sydney. july 2002.
starring my ugly ugly cold that didn’t hold me back from meeting John Mayer. ha!
i’ve seen him twice after that (at the metro show and a music max taping), i would of seen more if i had money and a stamina to overcome the groupies but you know what, sometimes it just has to stop. the madness needs to end. today. soon. maybe next year?
he’ll be on Rove tonight, Kerri Anne on Thursday, Sunrise on Friday aswell as playing his shows etc… i think i’ll leave him be, afterall … my sister Hayley does all the stalking for us now.
