wishing you and your family a very happy christmas day 🙂
we’ve already opened presents and had some brekkie – we’re off to grandma and grandpa’s later for dinner and more pressies!
Jovie loves her dollies and tea set, Jasper loves EVERYTHING – books, clothes, trucks, aquamat … it’s been a great day so far and it’ll only get better. i think having kids makes christmas more special – i can’t for both of them to start understanding Santa a bit more, oh the tricks we’ll play …
xx
we don’t get the chance often.. actually, we don’t get the chance at all! our work schedules see Regan and I only sharing 1 day a week together all day, so when his timetable changed, and there was a city Xmas party coming up.. we decided to take the kids and stay in the city overnight!

when you’re blessed to be a parent, you’re often cursed with sleep deprivation.
now, don’t get me wrong, being a parent to 2 little ones has made my life complete in so many ways. but i can’t deny how tired i am. “sleep” is one of those things that you often hear about, something you get a taste of it 20 minute patches here and there, and is at the top of your list when you finally get a minute to yourself (if you’re lucky to have that even). it’s just naturally one of those things you give up, happily but with an edge of ‘bah’ when you realise, at 5am, you haven’t gone to sleep yet for that night. and then you have to work 10 hours. and then it starts all over again.
my advice to all those suffering out there? stop counting how many hours you’ve lost, and think about the hours you’ve gained with your babies… it makes the day/night/day/night blur easier 🙂
Jasper may or may not outgrow his need to wake up 1-4 times a night and run down the hall screaming to find me.. Jovie will cut her teeth and may go through the same night wakings … but you know, this phase will pass and soon enough you will get your full nights sleep back.
sweet dreams (or at least, sane nights!)
