still here

Posted on October 22nd, 2007 by Tracey

just thought i’d update to let you know that i’m still here, still pregnant. i kinda feel the need to update everyone every couple of days otherwise you think i’ve had the baby already!

really, we shouldn’t be surprised – my due date is november 1st (or 2nd according to some) so i really shouldn’t be expecting anything until that first week of november. alot of the girls in the november mum’s group are having their babies this week (planned c-sections) so i’m really jealous, but i also see it as a chance to really slow down and enjoy these last days..

i’m making sure Mischa isn’t too spoiled, but that i’m giving her enough attention and we’re going for walks and playing in the yard. i’ve got a schedule of waking up early (around 6.30am) and doing the housework before 8am. i make sure that i’m rested and had my daily cupcake or two. i haven’t planned anything other than my checkups, but i’m thinking of going to get my hair cut and/or get a pedicure this week (maybe thursday? 39 weeks along). i’m still doing a bit of yoga now and then as it seems to help with the backache and cramps.

my dad gets home from malaysia & cambodia on friday morning – so i’m really excited to see him. it also means that i can mentally ‘let go’ because i really didn’t want him to miss out on the birth of his grandson..

but i’m ready, we’re all ready. just waiting.
i’m very aware of how much things are going to change, and i can’t wait!

38 week update

Posted on October 18th, 2007 by Tracey

where to start?
no, where to end?

again, don’t get me wrong – my pregnancy has been fantastic, but this is the hard yards now. physically and mentally, i’m exhausted. i know this is the last stretch, but it doesn’t make it any less taxing 🙁

this past week, i’ve felt like being on my own more and more, which has been possible (and a dream come true). at least in the quiet times, i’ve been able to listen to what is happening to my body and have been learning how to deal with it.

the TENS machine i’ve hired for 5 weeks has arrived, and we’ve test driven it once – it directed my attention to the buzzzzzzing sensation, which was awesome.

there’s not much else to do other than to eat more cake and get more sleep – which i’m happy to do. but i just can’t wait to meet my son! any day now …
