six months has flown by – HALF A YEAR! you’re now six months old
time sure does fly when you’re utterly and totally in love with a little boy like you, my dear JJ.. yes we still think your poop is cool, we still smile during the hard times, we still laugh whenever you do anything. everything that you do will always amaze and excite us.
about 4 or 5 weeks ago, your little teeth started to pop through – and i managed to get a photo a few weeks ago :
they’re still about the same now (except for a few millimetres that have seemed to have grown since 9am this morning!) – and you’ve still got your nights were you wake up from the pain, but overall you’re doing really well with it now 🙂
you’re becoming more aware of things – and have taken to holding your own bottle and feeding yourself sometimes …
it’s very strange to see you do new things like this all of a sudden, you’re growing! and to help you grow, we’ve started you on solids. currently, you’ve eaten and loved everything that we’ve given you including – rice cereal, pumpkin, apple & pear, banana and the sweet corn & chicken tinned baby food. you’re such a good eater, but then again that’s no surprise – look at your daddy and grandpa. it’s inevitable!
you took your first real trip to the city a couple of weeks ago, you were pampered and piled with kisses and hugs. your aunties literally scooped you out of your pram and paraded you around your daddy’s entire workplace but you didn’t mind all the attention – you smiled and stared at every new face you saw. when all the comotion settled down, you closed your eyes and slept while aunty hayley and i walked around my old shopping haunts..
you’re such a cheeky little boy, my Jasper.. you’re rolling into all sorts of mischief – often we’ll put you down on the floor for some tummy time (which you still love) and all of a sudden you’re tugging on my pant leg 🙂 you still pull the craziest faces out of nowhere – exhibit A
lately you’ve taken to staring at my hair and twiddling it through your fingers like it’s the greatest thing ever… your own hair has grown a centimetre – we can *almost* comb it, but i’m scared will comb it straight off your head 😛
and you’ve started to say ‘da da da’ much to your dad’s delight! (‘mama’ is coming soon right?) we know it’s not actual talk because you don’t know what you’re saying … but it’s still really really cute!
you’re sitting up really well now – very straight and tall 🙂 often, you’ll want to sit up straight in your bouncer, and you love sitting in your high chair – especially when i’m in the kitchen. you know how to cook risotto now! but you’re still afraid of aluminium foil
and weaning you off the bouncer is starting off well – you’ve just fallen asleep on your play mat for the first time (other than your last wind down which you have no problems doing every night before bed) – absolutely no bouncing involved! we’re so proud, we thought you’d be taking that bouncer everywhere for the next 30 years …
your grandma sharon and uncle ryan will be visiting in a couple of weeks. they’re coming all the way from america just to see you and they can’t wait! we can’t wait either – we already know how much they love you, meeting you is just going to send them over into ga ga land.
we love you so much baba, you’re such a joy. i’m so excited for your future and so happy to take you there …
